Mother whom I adore,
We are enjoying the threesome life right now. From the look of things, we might be in a threesome until I go home. It's keeping us really busy though. We were already busy back when Elder Nonne and I were only covering half the area, so now that all of Magelang is just us three, we're super busy. We had the fun experience of going on some splits with members and with Elder Jeffery. That was really enjoyable. I went with one member, he's such a good sport, and he agreed to ride bikes with me. But it turns out he hadn't ridden a bike for maybe 20 years. So it was pretty hard for him. But, he was still willing to serve. It was really special to see him so willing to sacrifice to help us missionaries.
I hope we will continue to see progress as well! :) This week we met with Ibu E and her family and we explained about the temple. They really liked it. For one of the meetings we had Elder Jeffery come and give his special presentation on the temple that he's been giving to a lot of the members to get them excited to go to the temple. Later this year there's a temple trip planned for the Magelang branch. With Ibu E and W, D, and D, they also finished their goals. They made some goals to be better and do things like help their mom with dishes, not fight with their siblings, and all this other stuff. So, we had to bring them some gifts. We gave them a New Testament stories book, For the Strength of Youth, some Jesus puzzles, some New Testament coloring pages, a CD with primary songs, and a scripture case. They were super excited when the gifts all got divvied out. What a great family :)
We also had a cool little miracle this week. We were on our way to visit an inactive member. He was doing some "yard-work" (digging a ditch for water to flow down so that people's houses wouldn't flood when it rained). So, he couldn't meet. We had decided to take a different route to his house than the one we usually took. As we were walking back to the church from this route, an Ibu called out to us from her balcony. She already knew that we were Elders! She invited us in and she told us that back in 2004 she had been taught by missionaries in Semarang. It had been 12 years since she saw missionaries again. She really wanted to learn and she still remembered some about Joseph Smith. We gave her a new Book of Mormon and explained about the story of Joseph Smith. She has 7 kids (the youngest is 2 months old). She comes from a Muslim-Christian family, and right now doesn't go to the mosque or to church, but she knows a lot about the teachings of both. She said she wants to go to church next week :) It's really cool to see the way that God works to prepare His children to receive this gospel.
